Kate Beckinsale hot wallpaper1

Kate Beckinsale
Kate Beckinsale
First making an impression on international audiences with her role as the sweet, virginal Hero in Kenneth_Branagh's Much_Ado_About_Nothing (1993), pale-skinned, fine-boned British actress Kate Beckinsale has since stepped beyond period pieces to prove that she is anything but a fragile English rose.
The daughter of a BBC casting director and famed television actor Richard_Beckinsale (known for roles on Porridge and Rising_Damp), Beckinsale was born July 26, 1973. After her father's death from a heart attack in 1979, the actress was raised by her mother. By her own account, Beckinsale's childhood and adolescence were fairly troubled, marked by struggles with anorexia. She decided to follow in her father's acting footsteps while still a teenager and in 1991, had her major television debut in Once Against the Wind, a World War II drama in which she played Judy_Davis' daughter. The same year, Beckinsale enrolled at Oxford, to study French and Russian Literature, and pursued her education until committing herself full-time to acting.
In 1993, while still a student at Oxford, Beckinsale was cast in Branagh's Much_Ado_About_Nothing. Her supporting role was a memorable one, winning the actress a limited amount of recognition amongst American audiences, but it was not until 1995, when she starred in John_Schlesinger's adaptation of Stella Gibbons' -Cold Comfort Farm, that her wattage began to increase, at least in art houses everywhere. The film, which was initially made for BBC television, proved to be a modest hit, bringing in respectable box office and glowing reviews. Beckinsale followed the film's success with another two years later, starring as an altruistic con artist in the quirky romantic comedy Shooting_Fish. The film was an unqualified hit in its native country, becoming the third-highest grossing film in England for 1997. The same year, Beckinsale further increased her visibility with the title role in A&E's Emma.
She next graced American movie screens in Whit_Stillman's The Last Days of Disco (1998). She received good reviews for her portrayal of a cool and catty WASP college graduate (for which she assumed an American accent), although the movie itself met with a deeply mixed reaction. The following year, Beckinsale, in addition to giving birth to a daughter (fathered by longtime boyfriend Michael_Sheen), starred in her first big-budget Hollywood feature. Playing opposite Claire_Danes in Brokedown_Palace, the actress portrayed an American girl who, while on vacation with best friend Danes in Thailand, gets caught with heroin and is sentenced to 33 years in a Thai prison.
That mid-budgeted film, however, was nothing compared to her next major Hollywood production. After essaying roles in a television production of Alice Through the Looking Glass (1999) and the Merchant/Ivory production of Henry James' -The Golden Bowl (2000), Beckinsale was plucked from relative obscurity by director Michael_Bay for his lavish World War II epic, Pearl Harbor (2001). Boasting a record-setting, nine-digit price tag and one of the most aggressive marketing campaigns ever waged on the American public, the film featured the actress as Evelyn, a plucky nurse torn between the affections of two soldiers.
Though a brief foray into Laurel Canyon found Beckinsale essaying the low-key role of a Harvard graduate gone astray after a taste of the wild side of life, she once again shifted into high gear for the big-budget vampire versus werewolf battle royal Underworld in 2003. Sporting the sort of gothic vinyl duds that had fanboys crooning, Beckinsale raised arms against a brutal breed of lycanthropes and few could argue that she didn't look good doing it. So good, in fact, that not only a sequel but a prequel followed.
That same year, Beckinsale and Underworld director Len Wiseman wedded. Soon thereafter the starlet was once again doing battle with the undead (opposite X-Men's Hugh Jackman) in the action horror adventure Van Helsing. At the end of 2004, Beckinsale turned in a solid performance as Ava Gardner in Martin Scorsese's multiple Oscar-winning Howard Hughes biopic The Aviator. While she would be out of theaters in 2005, Beckinsale returned in two very different projects the following year. In addition to starring in another Underworld, Beckinsale portrayed Adam Sandler's wife in the comedy Click. Rebecca Flint Marx, All Movie Guide

Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie
It was an unusually quite 35th birthday for Angelina Jolie on Friday. Hollywood superstar Jolie, often described as the most beautiful woman in the world, was spotted having a pre-birthday lunch with only her assistant for company. Boyfriend Brad Pitt and her six children were conspicuous by their absence. However there may be lots of excitement, some welcome and some not, coming her way soon. While Jolie gets ready to promote new film Salt, celeb author Andrew Morton has announced a biography that will reveal details of the actress' wild past, including her trysts with drugs, self-harm and voodoo.
Jolie's life is certainly a tapestry of myriad shades and hues. She was born to famous Oscar winning actor Jon Voight and actress Marcheline Bertrand on June 4, 1975 in Los Angeles, California. Her parents separated just a year after her birth and she and he brother were brought up by their mother in New York.
She enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute at the age of 11 but dropped out just two years into the programme. Marcheline Bertrand let her 14-year-old daughter's older boyfriend move into their home, with Jolie and her elder brother James Haven. She broke up with her boyfriend in 1991.
Teen years were not happy for Jolie. Her mother was not well off and she was often teased by other students at school for being extremely thin and for wearing glasses and braces. Depression and low self-esteem led young Jolie to start inflicting cuts on herself. "I had that problem early on when I couldn't feel a bond with another human being," she told Allure in a 2004 interview. Elsewhere she has been quoted as saying "For some reason, the ritual of having cut myself and feeling the pain, maybe feeling alive, feeling some kind of release, it was somehow therapeutic to me."
Jolie started her showbiz career at the age of seven with her father in the film Lookin' to Get Out.
From there she graduated to modeling and shooting for music videos. She worked with artistes like Meat Loaf ('Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through'), Antonello Venditti ('Alta Marea'), Lenny Kravitz ('Stand by My Woman'), and The Lemonheads ('It's About Time').
Recently Jolie's earliest modeling photographs went under the hammer. The actress, who was just 15 at the time, posed for photographer Harry Langdon.
It was while working for another 1995 film Hackers that Jolie made her first husband Jonny Lee Miller. The film followed the exploits of a group of gifted high school hackers and their involvement in a corporate extortion conspiracy. However it failed to do well at the box office.
The actress repeated her success in 1998, winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for TV. The role of supermodel Gia Caragea in the TV drama Gia propelled Jolie to the line-up of Hollywood's best actresses. Wild at heart Jolie reportedly celebrated by jumping into the pool at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, still in her Randolph Duke gown.
Original Sin (2001) in which Jolie starred opposite Antonio Banderas as the mail-order bride Julia Russell, did not do anything for her reputation as an actress. However her steamy scenes in the film did create quite a stir and Jolie promptly laid claim to the title of the 'sexiest woman in the world'.
Premiered at Cannes, Clint Eastwood's Changeling (2008) is based on an actual incident that rocked California's legal system. Changeling tells the shocking tale of a mother's quest to find her son, and those who won't stop until they silence her. Jolie received her second Academy Award nomination, and was also nominated for a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, and the Screen Actors Guild Award for her portrayal of Christine Collins.
Jolie has three biological children. She gave birth to a daughter, Shiloh Nouvel, in Swakopmund, Namibia, on May 27, 2006. The first pictures of Shiloh were reportedly sold for $7 million, with the proceeds going to charity. The twins, Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline were born in Nice, France, on July 12, 2008. This time entertainment magazines Hello! and People doubled the price for photos and $14 million went to the Jolie/Pitt Foundation.
Jolie's celebrity status is without few parallels. In 2006 she was described as the world's most beautiful woman by People magazine and again by Vanity Fair in 2009. She has been on the Time 100 list of the most influential people in the world, in 2006 and 2008. She was also voted the greatest sex symbol of all time in a British Channel 4 show in 207. She has been on the cover of nearly every well-known magazine in the world, including Esquire, Rolling Stone, Maxim, Marie Claire and GQ.
Given her no-holds barred attitude to life, it is natural for Jolie to court controversies from time to time. She has run into rough weather over the intimate kiss she shared with her brother at the Oscars in 2000 and for a November 2008 photograph on the cover of W magazine that showed her breastfeeding her new born twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline. In 2005 the actress was accused of breaking up Brad Pitt's marriage to Jennifer Aniston. It was as charge that Jolie vehemently denied. "To be intimate with a married man, when my own father cheated on my mother, is not something I could forgive. I could not look at myself in the morning if I did that. I wouldn't be attracted to a man who would cheat on his wife," she said in an interview in June 2005.

Abbey Clancy hot wallpaper1

Abbey Clancy
Abbey Clancy
Abigail Rose Clancy (born 10 January 1986), also known as Abi Clancy or Abbey Clancy, is an English lingerie and catwalk model who made headlines during the 2006 FIFA World Cup as the girlfriend of England football star Peter Crouch.
Born in Liverpool, Clancy was member of girlband Genie Queen, who were managed by 80s popstar Andy McCluskey from Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. The highlight of their career was supporting boyband Blue on tour. However, the band didn’t secure a record deal and fell apart.

Britain’s Next Top Model
In the summer of 2006 the second cycle of Living TV’s Britain’s Next Top Model hit UK screens and Clancy featured as one of the twelve finalists in the competition, competing over 10 weeks for a desired modelling contract. Clancy was determined to go far in the competition, however was criticized for being too glamour than high fashion. Clancy made it to the final runway show with fellow contestant Lianna Fowler, at the final judging Clancy lost out and finished second place in the competition. During the show, which coincided with the 2006 FIFA World Cup, that her relationship with football star Peter Crouch was revealed. This together with BNTM caused her to make headlines and start a successful media career.

Since Britain’s Next Top Model
Since appearing on the show Abigail has modelled for Maxim magazine (December 2006), Nuts magazine (November 2006), OK! magazine, GQ magazine (August 2006), The Sun newspaper, the Daily Star newspaper, Sugar magazine, Stars on Sunday magazine and numerous other publications. In 2006, Clancy was the face and body of Pussy Glamore’s winter Lingerie collection alongside Elizabeth Jagger in photos shot by Bryan Adams. She has graced the front cover of FHM magazine twice (December 2006 & November 2007).

Clancy has appeared as a talking head in the documentaries Slave To Fashion and The Ultimate Bikini Guide for Channel 4, as a guest on programmes such as Richard and Judy and GMTV and in her own Reality TV series Abbey and Janice: Beauty and the Best which followed her attempts to break the Los Angeles modelling scene guided by Janice Dickinson who acted as her mentor. The show aired from May 14th to June 18th 2007 on Living TV and also followed her as she walked the runway for Christian Audigier’s Ed Hardy. In May 2007, Clancy appeared on the front cover of Arena magazine, modelled the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike in the Daily Mail newspaper and was ranked 37th in FHM magazine’s Annual 100 sexiest women in the world poll of 2007.
Clancy featured in the third series of the UK edition of Hell’s Kitchen. She was the third contestant to be voted off the show by the public, and the 5th to leave overall.
Clancy is currently the face of Euromillions. Her official 2008 calendar is available in stores and online and she can be seen in an innovative Online re-run of Abbey and Janice: Beauty and the best as a companion series to the third season of the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency on the Oxygen network’s shedidwhat.tv site.
Clancy is the new face (and body) of Ultimo Lingerie for spring/summer 2008 alongside Sarah Harding and Gemma Atkinson.
In November 2007 it was reported in the Press that Clancy is planning to launch a new career as Pop Music Singer. An article in The Sun quoted an Industry source that ‘Abbey is determined to launch herself as a big pop star. She’s currently doing the rounds looking for songs that sound like early Madonna…Gordon Charlton is going to make sure she makes a mark on the charts. He works for Universal Records and has a good track record with other up and coming artists.’

Personal life
After football striker Peter Crouch signed for Liverpool, the pair started dating. Clancy became a fully fledged WAG, and became part of the England teams WAG group during 2006 FIFA World Cup. However, during the tournament, allegations surfaced in several tabloids of cocaine-taking as well as cheating on Crouch with an ex-boyfriend. Clancy was sent home in disgrace half way through the competition, with Crouch having dumped her via a fax issuing a statement via his lawyer disclaiming any further involvement with her: “In light of this, I wish to make the situation absolutely clear: Abi and I were in the early stages of a relationship which, for a number of reasons I decided to end, and accordingly informed Abi of my decision.” Clancy announced via the media that the pictures were taken during her short lived musical career when she was a teenager.
In the period after the England team exited the World Cup, rumours began to surface that the pair were dating again, later confirmed by Crouch removing his legal statement in the Autumn. The pair are now an irregular feature of various media stories, focusing on their relatively quiet and stable relationship. Her brother, Kyle Clancy is a professional footballer currently playing for Blackpool, and her other brother, Sean Clancy plays for Conference North club, Burscough.

Ana Ivanovic
Ana Ivanovic: Slowly Getting Back on Track
The 2008 French Open saw Ana Ivanovic reach the pinnacle of the women’s game. The young Serb had won her first major title and risen to the World No. 1 ranking. Having previously failed in two major finals, she had cast off the tag of being a "choker" and it seemed as though everything was falling into place. She was destined to win more major titles.
The big problem, however, is that once you reach the top, often, the only way is down. In the two years since her finest triumph, Ivanovic has certainly learned this lesson.
As soon as she had reached the top her game, her mind began to disintegrate. She departed from Wimbledon that year in the third round and it wouldn’t be until March 2009 when she would reach the final of a premier event, although she was the runner-up in Linz in October 2008.
In defense of her French Open title she stumbled to a fourth round defeat to Victoria Azarenka, who was World No. 9, only one place below Ivanovic. Clearly, she hadn’t been disgraced.
On the face of it, just glancing at her results since her French Open victory, there would’ve only been a slight cause for concern. She was still ranked inside the top 10 and she was by no means being embarrassed on the scoreboard.
If you saw her matches, however, it was clear that something was wrong. We had previously seen glimpses into her lack of confidence, most notably in the 2007 French Open final when her ball toss was somewhat erratic.
Ivanovic later said, in her own refreshingly honest way, that she had been overwhelmed by the occasion and was crippled by nerves and despite going on to win there a year later, her nerves would continue to reappear.
At any moment she appeared to be on the precipice of a complete collapse. The wayward ball toss when serving would become an all too common occurrence as her confidence depleted by the day. Numerous injuries also didn’t help her cause.
She was winning matches, but not because of skill. She was winning because of her determination and fighting spirit.
Ivanovic’s poor run of form continued throughout 2009 and by the end of the year was the World No. 21. It was the first time she had been ranked outside the top 20 since July 2005.
2010 got off to a good start for Ivanovic, reaching the semifinals in Brisbane before losing to Justine Henin. The early promise of a new year soon evaporated and Ivanovic, once again, was exiting tournaments within in the first couple of days.
The North American hard court season saw her unveil her new coach, Heinz Günthardt, who coached Steffi Graf. While the arrangement at the time was only temporary, it has since become a more permanent one. She has even stated that she hopes "it’s going to work out in the long run."
Perhaps that may be a change in her psyche, but whilst she struggles on the court the sword can’t be too far above Günthardt’s head. After all, she has received help on the coaching front from Craig Kardon, Sven Groenefeld, and Darren Cahill since her demise began.
Günthardt has stated that he thinks coaching Ivanovic will be a big challenge, but it's a challenge he clearly relishes since he claimed some time ago that he wouldn’t coach anyone again. The good news for Günthardt is that the great player Ivanovic was is still inside her somewhere.
When at the top of her game she has one of the most formidable serves in women’s tennis. In fact, she still sits in fifth place for the fastest serve ever recorded on the WTA Tour at 124.9 mph.
She also possesses a visually pleasant, fluid forehand which is capable of pinning down any opponent. None of this has disappeared, it’s just been temporarily lost. Günthardt just needs to make Ivanovic believe again.
By the time the European clay court season had arrived, Ivanovic had fallen outside of the top 50. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop her from reaching the semifinals in Rome. En route to the semis she defeated Victoria Azarenka, Elena Dementieva, and Nadia Petrova. All of whom are ranked inside the Top 20.
Ivanovic was eventually ousted by Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez, who went onto win the tournament. Ivanovic was quick to give a lot of the credit for her performance to her new coach, who had advised her to "swing freely" and "have fun."
Ivanovic came back down to earth with a bump in Madrid courtesy of a second round defeat to her compatriot, Jelena Jankovic.
In Paris she lost in the second round to the No. 28 seed Alisa Kleybanova, who led their head-to-head 2-1 prior to the meeting. In the first set Ivanovic teased spectators by recapturing a little of her best form, even if it was only for fleeting moments.
Her serving was solid, whilst her forehand was somewhere near it’s best. Her footwork, which is usually a pitfall, even looked good, before she was blown of the court in the second set 6-0.
After the match Ivanovic said that she thought she played well, but Kleybanova just played better. She also said, "Sport doesn’t build character, it shows it." If that’s the case she is showing a lot at the moment.
Going into Roland Garros she was World No. 41, so she is going in the right direction and with more performances like those of late she will be back in the top 32 in hardly any time. And who knows, maybe even the top 20 by the end of the year. The road she is travelling is undoubtedly a long one, but with her heart and Günthardt by her side it’s a road the 22-year-old can travel.

Freida Pinto hot wallpaper1

Freida Pinto
Freida Pinto
The news is out. Freida Pinto, who somebody said went from obscurity to worldwide superstardom in the blink of a well-curled eyelash with Slumdog Millionaire, has bagged the biggest and perhaps best role of her young career as an actress.
It is in Tarsem Singh’s $100 million Greek mythological epic War of The Gods which will release in the summer of 2011. An excited Hollywood press is supposed to have cranked up the buzz blaster and Tarsem himself described his film “as a larger-than-life adventure with the look and feel of an Italian
renaissance painting — a setting well-suited to Freida’s timeless beauty”.
The actress, who plays Phaedra — the hero’s oracle in War of The Gods, was in Mumbai when the story broke. I met her for tea one evening at a city hotel poolside where she was shooting a campaign for a UK human rights organisation. She walked upto me with her hair blowing madly in the breeze, long legs flashing in snug designer jeans, golden-beige thongs peeping carelessly over the waistband through a tomato-red top. I thought she looked what she was, a sweet and young Catholic girl from Malad in whom Danny Boyle saw some spark and cast in Slumdog, changing Freida’s life forever.
She’s been in Mumbai since Christmas, spending time with her family, catching up with cousins, dodging the media which wanted details of her love life with Slumdog co-star Dev Patel. “My career made me known to the media, so keep it at that, I don’t want to divulge personal details of my life. And if I truly and honestly believe I have nothing to say, why bore people with my chatter,” Freida asked. So that was that about Dev Patel. I asked her what she had been doing all of last year, after Slumdog swept the Golden Globe and Oscars, taking her from Malad and screen tests and auditions in Bollywood to red carpets alongside Hollywood’s most glamorous. “Two films,” she replied, “for which I spent four months in Israel and four months in London, that took care of 2009.”
The films are Miral, a Franco-Israeli film based in war-torn Jerusalem during Israel’s 1948 partition from Palestine. And You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger, a Woody Allen film, in which Freida acts opposite Josh Brolin, and with Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas and Naomi Watts. “What about the James Bond role,” I asked. “I have no idea where that came from,” Freida shrugged, “even my LA agents were curious. But this is a Bond thing, it happens with a lot of actresses, or with those in the news. It was very flattering, I must say, and I don’t know if I would have done it. I’m too young to be a Bond girl. There’s not much of a role, though some of them have become iconic, and you need somebody more mature and beautiful than me.” This coming from someone described by the international fashion police as being among the most beautiful, best dressed, desirable and stylish women of the world. “Oh that’s nothing,” she said dismissively, “there will always be someone else next year. I want to be an actress who will be remembered.”
Isn’t it strange, that despite her success in Hollywood, there are no roles yet for Freida to play in Bollywood? She clicked her tongue in irritation, “I haven’t said no to Bollywood, I am looking at scripts, when I hit the nail on the head — I will announce it. I have to do a Hindi film. Bollywood is changing, it is globally appealing, and the stars here all treat me well.”
They pat Freida on the back when their paths cross and tell her, “Keep it up, babe.” But there’s only one star in Bollywood who she looks upto. “Shah Rukh Khan,” she said, “His is by far the most inspirational story of all, he’s graceful, charming, and so wonderful, the best representation that India can have internationally.” She co-presented an award with SRK at the Golden Globes last year. “And I don’t know yet if I was more excited or nervous to be standing next to Shah Rukh Khan,” she giggled like an infatuated teen.
What would she have been doing if Slumdog hadn’t happened, I asked. “I’d be struggling, I still am — actually, the struggle never ends. Before Slumdog, I’d wake up and wait for a call from my agency. Then go for auditions, trying to make it, get a break in Bollywood.” And now she’s, what, the highest paid actress in India? “Oh dear, who said that,” Freida wanted to know, “and where’s the money? Nothing came to me!” But yes, what Slumdog had done was it made her more confident. And it opened Hollywood up to her. “It gave me the opportunity to choose what I want to do. Unless you get success, you don’t get the privilege to say yes and no,” admitted Freida. “But at home, they treat me the same as before, my mother is always telling me not to leave my things lying around, and I roam about the house in pajamas. But I cannot go down and play 7 Tiles anymore with the other building kids...”

Kristin Kreuk
Kristin Kreuk was born on December 30, 1982 in Vancouver, Canada. Of mixed descent—her father has Dutch blood; her mother, while born in Indonesia, has Chinese blood—she trained in gymnastics at the national level until she suffered from scoliosis. While in secondary school, she was convinced by her drama teacher to join auditions for the Canadian teen series Edgemont, who earlier started looking for someone to fill the character of Chinese-Canadian girl Laurel Yeung. Despite not having any acting experience aside from school plays, she won the part.

Edgemont was a moderate success in Canada, as well as internationally, and Kreuk was cast in other different roles. In 2001, she played the lead role of Snow White in the television movie Snow White: The Fairest of Them All. Her biggest break, however, came when she was asked to audition for the role of Lana Lang in Smallville, the series about the live of teenager Clark Kent (Tom Welling) before becoming Superman. Initially she was unsure about the role she would receive, presuming that since the character is popular in school, she’ll have to play a shallow idiot, but was later impressed when she read the script. When she was finally offered the role, she immediately accepted it.

After wrapping up shooting for Edgemont in 2003, she made her feature film debut, via a cameo appearance in the 2004 comedy EuroTrip. She also snagged a role in the Sci Fi Channel miniseries Legend of Earthsea, where she played high priestess Tenar, opposite Shawn Ashmore. She has also appeared in two independent films: Partition, where she a 17-year-old affected by the partition of India; and in Dream Princess, a sci-punk retelling of Sleeping Beauty. She is also the longest-running spokesperson for beauty product line Neutrogena, having signed up from 2003.

Elisha Cuthbert
Elisha Cuthbert
Elisha Ann Cuthbert was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on November 30, 1982. Along with her two younger siblings, Jonathan and Lee-Ann, she relocated to Vancouver with her parents, Kevin and Patricia.
Eventually, the Cuthbert family moved to the East and settled in the Montreal suburb of Greenfield Park, in the province (state) of Quebec. Elisha was quite mischievous as a little girl, even making her mother believe that she was lactose intolerant because she didn't like the taste of milk. She was such a good actress that this ploy worked for years.
Elisha Cuthbert child model
Cuthbert's career in the entertainment industry began in 1990, when she was 7 years old. That year, she started modeling children's clothing in a variety of catalogs and magazines, and was even a foot model. It wasn't the most glamorous job but it gave her access to free cookies, as she recalls.

But 1997 was the decisive year of her young career. After an appearance in the family film Dancing on the Moon, Cuthbert was chosen to become a global correspondent for the award-winning show, Popular Mechanics for Kids.

Elisha hosts popular mechanics for kids
For three years, she traveled the world for the series and did things other kids only dream about, such as eating seal meat in the North Pole, snorkeling with sharks, and steering an aircraft carrier. While trotting the globe as a correspondent for the award-winning series "Popular Mechanics for Kids" (1997), she caught the eye of First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton and was invited to Washington for a meeting with her.

Still, even though she was busy with Popular Mechanics for Kids, Elisha took on other projects. She had a starring role alongside Joe Mantegna in the air disaster adventure Airspeed (1998) and followed it up with the family fantasy, Nico the Unicorn (1998).

She continued her family film streak in 1999 with Who Gets the House? and Time at the Top. That same year, she was cast in Nickelodeon's "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" and kept it up for one year.

After sharing the screen with Randy Quaid in the made-for-TV movie Mail to the Chief and appearing in the ghost story Believe, both in 2000, Elisha Cuthbert graduated from Centennial Regional High School. With all the success she had known, she was ready for an international career.

Elisha Cuthbert is one lucky girl
Nevertheless, Elisha shot one last Canadian film, a TV movie called Lucky Girl (2001). Her portrayal of Katlin Palmerston, a teenager who happens to be a compulsive gambler, was so riveting that it garnered her a Gemini Award (Canada's version of the Emmy) for Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Dramatic Program or Miniseries.

Armed with this award and an impressive resume, Elisha left Montreal for Los Angeles, where she gave herself six months to make it. On her second day, she found herself auditioning for the lead female part in Spider-Man (2002), a role that ultimately went to Kirsten Dunst.

But things were hard for Cuthbert and she wasn't landing any roles. As she was getting ready to return home, she was offered a part in fellow Canuck Kiefer Sutherland's new television series, 24. With all 24 episodes taking place in one day, this high-intensity drama was groundbreaking and became a huge hit.

Exposure on the FOX series garnered Cuthbert legions of fans. Like many Hollywood stars, she found herself dating celebrities. After spending more than a year with actor Andrew Keegan (former fiancé of country singer LeAnn Rimes), she moved on to Justin Timberlake's best friend and personal assistant, Trace Ayala. They've been together since May 2003.

Elisha is the girl next door
While 24 has become a commercial and critical hit (it won the Best Television Series -- Drama -- Golden Globe in 2004), Elisha also made time to appear as a mysterious one-night stand in Old School (2003) and as an American sex kitten in Love Actually (2003). Her next project, The Girl Next Door (2004), in which she plays a former porn star, is her first American leading role. In 2004, she also adds House of Wax to her resume.

Elisha engaged to Trace Ayala in June 2004.

In her next big-screen outing, Cuthbert starred with Paris Hilton and Chad Michael Murray in the 2005 remake of the classic horror film House of Wax. Cuthbert, along with the rest of her cast mates, was made up to look haggard and frightened. In one scene, her character was to attempt to open her mouth while her lips were sealed with glue. For the sake of realism, Cuthbert opted for real superglue over prosthetics.

The Quiet
Following House of Wax, Cuthbert became involved in her third project where she took on the duties of co-star and co-producer of the indie film The Quiet, contributing to its US$900,000 budget. She played Nina, a temperamental cheerleader who suffered from sexual abuse, while Camilla Belle played Dot, a brooding, deaf orphan girl adopted by Nina's family who became privy to their morbid secrets. Playing Nina disturbed Cuthbert, a role she described as "dark and heavy." Cuthbert studied her younger sister, Lee-Ann, to further understand the character. The Quiet premiered at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival. It has yet to receive a wide release.

Perfect Situation (music video for Weezer)
Cuthbert appeared in the music video for Weezer's "Perfect Situation" in early 2006, where she played the group's fictional original singer who threw a tantrum that led to Rivers Cuomo, the unlikely roadie, becoming the frontman of the band.

She also reprised her role as Kim Bauer in 24: The Game.
Sometime in November, 2005, Ayala (Elisha's fiance) remarked, "Neither one of us is in a hurry to get married." Since then, she has reportedly been dating former L.A. King Sean Avery. The status of the engagement with Ayala remains uncertain.
Recent career
Presently, Cuthbert has been cast in three feature films. The first, Captivity, is a thriller centered around a fashion model and her chauffeur being taunted by a psychopath who has imprisoned them in a cellar. In He Was a Quiet Man, Cuthbert's character, Vanessa, will be a quadriplegic. The film will contain comedic and dramatic elements; the cast includes Christian Slater and William H. Macy. The third film, Cat Tale, is an animated film set in a civilized world of cats and dogs. Cuthbert will voice Cleo, "the feline daughter of a wealthy kitty litter baron." Cat Tale is scheduled for release in 2007 by Walt Disney Pictures. Reports indicated that Cuthbert would be collaborating with Babbit and Belle again in the upcoming comedy Itty Bitty Titty Committee; however, neither Cuthbert nor Belle are listed in the IMDb entry for the film.

Spears brawls publicly with boyfriend Trawick
Pop princess Britney Spears had a huge public fight over dinner with her boyfriend Jason Trawick and stormed out of the hotel.
The showdown happened at a Los Angeles hotel on Thursday night after the 'Toxic' hitmaker started arguing with Trawick, who recently quit being Spears' manager in order to concentrate on being her boyfriend, reported New York Post online.
"Britney was rude to the waitress and then started arguing with Jason, saying she'd had enough. He was trying to calm her down, but she wasn't in the mood," said a source.
"They had been sit ting down for dinner, but just over 30 minutes into the meal, Britney decided she wanted to leave. She headed out of a back door of the hotel, with Jason following, still trying to calm her down. She looked furious. It's clear there is trouble in paradise," the source added.

Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba dismisses rumors of Lindsay Lohan
Actress Jessica Alba says she didn't get all bent out of shape back in November when reports surfaced that her husband, Cash Warren, had been caught kissing troubled celeb Lindsay Lohan. At this point in her career she doesn't let the tabloid "lies" get to her. "Lindsay's had to deal with this for so long," Alba, 28, tells the U.K. edition of Cosmopolitan (via People) for its March issue. "Everyone has to live their life, and that's what people forget when you're in this business--she's really nice. We hang out and chat for hours about girl stuff." Alba, 28, and Warren, 31, are discussing a possible business venture. She says the two might make a TV show about "the ridiculousness of tabloids." "When people wrote lies about me before I had [my daughter] Honor, I'd get upset or I'd get nauseous or I'd get angry or I'd want revenge," Alba says. "Now, it's like, it's just so ridiculous and it's not even close to being the truth."

Anna Kendrick
Anna Kendrick – 2010 MTV Moive Awards
Anna Kendrick was one of the best dressed gals to walk the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards in LA on Jun. 6, dressed in her pretty, paint print Zac Posen and Gianvito Rossi organza ankle strap sandals. The starlet, who won the Best Breakout Star award, sure stood out thanks to her pretty get-up, but that wasn’t the first time we saw this delightful dress! While Anna was the first to bring the look to the red carpet, back in April Scarlett Johansson was spotted leaving her home during the day wearing the same fun frock! Like Anna, Scarlett opted for an interesting black shoe — although Scar Jo’s cork-heeled, lace-up sandals were definitely more appropriate for during the day.
“Holy crap! I actually won something and I have a cold that makes me sound like a toddler! Still so happy!! Yay!!! :)” Anna tweeted at the end of the evening.

Katherine Heigl hot wallpaper1

 Katherine Heigl
Katherine Heigl
Katherine Heigl was an experienced movie actress by the time she was cast as one of the out-of-this-world teenagers on WB's Roswell in 1999. Born and raised in Connecticut, Heigl began modeling and appearing in TV ads as a child. After making her film debut in That Night (1992), Heigl balanced movie work with high school, playing a small role in Steven Soderbergh's Depression-era drama King of the Hill (1993), starring as Gérard Depardieu's difficult daughter in My Father the Hero (1994), and Steven Seagal's niece in the action sequel Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995). Heigl headed to Los Angeles after high school to make acting her full-time job. Following a leading role in Wish Upon a Star (1996) and a small part as a Rita Hayworth stand-in in Stand-Ins (1997), Heigl made a foray into horror with Bug Buster (1998) and Bride of Chucky (1998).
Branching out into television, Heigl co-starred with Peter Fonda in a Shakespeare-via-Civil War reworking of The Tempest (1998). Benefiting from the late-'90s wave of youth-driven TV shows, Heigl stayed with television and attracted an avid following as alien beauty Isabel on the cult hit Roswell. The doctors-in-love dramedy Grey's Anatomy, however, catapulted its entire cast to full-fledged stardom when it premiered in 2005; Heigl's role as the tough-cookie intern Izzie endeared her to countless fans of the show. The actress savvily parlayed this success into a movie career, although not by going the traditional three-hanky drama route. After winningly playing a Special Olympics counselor in 2005's broad comedy The Ringer, Heigl seemed the perfect choice for writer-director Judd Apatow's follow-up to The 40-Year-Old Virgin, 2007's Knocked Up. The improv-heavy tale of an unlikely one-night-stand - and its consequences - relied upon Heigl's charm and crack comedic timing to balance out the dude-centric humor supplied by co-stars Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd. The combination worked, as audiences made Knocked Up a bona-fide summer hit.

Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga to appear in an episode of Dr. Who?
Okay, don’t get mad at me or start asking about proofs coz I really don’t have any. This is just a speculation. No, it’s not a food for thought. Gareth Roberts says Lady Gaga might just appear in one of the Dr. Who episodes. Don’t know who Gareth Roberts is? He is the dude who script writes for the Dr. Who show.
Needless to say, Gaga and Dr. Who, together sharing screen space would be one hell of a sight. Of course they are a deadly combination. Ok magazine confirmed that Gareth Roberts has already come up with the storyline for Gaga’s TV appearance.
By the way, speaking of Gaga, did you know she won the most Outstanding Music Artist award at the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards? America’s first openly gay mainstream pop artist and runner-up of American Idol 8, Adam Lambert was another close contender.
So do you think Doctor Who will have Gaga on his show? Will you watch the episode if something of that sort actually happens? The show is a heritage. It started way back in 1963. 11 actors have appeared as Dr Who till date and we recon they are running out of ideas and that is where the idea of putting Gaga in front of the screen comes in.

Jennifer Lopez wants her perfumes to be sexy
Popstar Jennifer Lopez, who is all set to launch her new fragrance, wants her perfumes to be sexy.
The singer-and-actress thinks she drove manufacturers Coty, crazy when creating the specific scent she was looking for with her new fragrance 'Love and Glamour', WWD.com reported.
"I drive Coty a little bit crazy. Because it's always not signature enough. I go back and say things like, 'Can we push the sandalwood a little bit more, can we make it a tiny bit more sexy?' And then I think we are in the right direction. And then they come with one or two variations and I say, 'No, that's not it.' It's a long process," Lopez said.
"To translate that into actual chemistry is a difficult thing. Then they go back and say, 'What does she mean by sexy?' And I'm like, 'You know if you take that little piece that smells a little bit like wood but has a little bit of musk? But I just want you to add a little bit of sweetness. Can you do that for me?'," she added.
Jennifer loves creating a scent because there are so many different avenues to explore in designing a "unique" fragrance.
"Making the bottle, creating the packaging, creating the campaign - it's all so much easier than creating the juice. You always want to create something signature - that's always kind of what I'm pushing for when working with Coty.
You want it to be a combination that people have never smelled before. It's always an exciting time, because the sky's the limit and it can go in any direction," Lopez said.

Sandra Bullock makes surprise appearance for the 'Guys'
In her first public appearance since the back-to-back news of her divorce and the adoption of her adorable baby son Louis, Sandra Bullock returned to the spotlight Saturday night, making a memorable surprise appearance at Spike TV's Guys Choice Awards.
There to accept the "Troops Choice" Award for Entertainer of the Year, from presenter Robert Downey, Jr. -- the honor was bestowed by members of the military -- the "Blind Side" Oscar winner, looking stunning in form-fitting black, leather mini-dress, received a standing ovation from the audience inside the Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles.
"Let's be honest here, just for a moment. We're all going to be honest, right?" Bullock, 45, told the crowd. "Did I win this for being entertainer of the year, or did I win this because of the spectacular I.E.D. [improvised explosive device] explosion that became my personal life?!"
Once the laughter subsided, she added, "No, it's okay. Because I would do it over again if it was to entertain our troops , and our extraordinary troops deserve something much more than some actress in a tight dress talking about herself."
She also told them, "I would sing, but you've seen enough pain in your lifetime. I would dance -- I'm a pretty good dancer, but as I mentioned, the dress is pretty tight".
